Cachet Hotel Group (CHG) is continuing its growth in China, with the signing of a deal to launch its flagship Cachet hotel brand in the city of Chengdu.

Last month, the company announced an agreement to bring its eco-friendly URBN Hotels brand to Kunming, and now it has followed this up with the signing of a Cachet-branded “lifestyle” hotel in Sichuan’s capital.

Currently under construction and set to open in 2016, the new Cachet Hotel will form part of a new mixed-use development called the Chengdu Jinbao Plaza, which will feature office and commercial towers, a financial centre and luxury shopping mall.

The glass-fronted hotel will offer 191 rooms, all of which come with electronic tablets to access hotel services such as in-room dining, laundry and housekeeping. Guests will check-in online and use their smartphones as room keys. Hotel facilities will include a Chinese restaurant, spa and cocktail bar.

“Chengdu has evolved into a global destination and is home to pioneering industries including information technology, biomedical engineering and new energy,” said Alexander Mirza, president & CEO of CHG. “This landmark development presents the perfect opportunity for Cachet’s flagship brand to introduce product and service innovations that redefine the Asian hospitality experience.”

Cachet is one of three brands offered by CHG, along with URBN and r Hotel. The company says it is “focused on establishing properties in Greater China, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the United States”.
