BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 28, 2005–Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will be working company-wide on new product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, among others. Mirza will be based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports directly to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Hilton, Mirza was a senior executive in the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was responsible for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career at First Financial, Inc. and opened the first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes several years of project management experience with Deloitte/Braxton Associates in the areas of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with management teams in the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the areas of customer strategy, new product development and service innovation.

Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, with a focus on brand marketing and corporate strategy. He also holds an M.A. in Economics and a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
